Armed opposition has been a hallmark of hate and paramilitary civilian groups. These violent, ideological and racist extremists will not be perceived as a threat to the public if guns are removed from these groups.

That rally, called DISARM HATE, attracted nine strangers from Los Angeles who traveled to Washington, DC to support Jason's cause. Now, this bill is back in Congress as a companion bill to the existing Hate Crimes Prevention Act. This Act would prohibit those convicted of misdemeanor hate crimes from purchasing or possessing firearms.

A federal bill called the Disarm Hate Act would ban gun buyers who have been convicted of hate crimes from purchasing guns. The Disarm Hate Act will not only apply to hate crimes laws in other states, but also would prohibit those convicted from purchasing guns.
